Stages provide the ability to link focused segments of work within a project that may have different bodies of data & team members. Stages empower connected environments for collaboration & scope coordination, as well as support long term building management.
“My Dashboard” now includes a “Stage” column to indicate the stages created for a given project. Sort to see the various projects you might have for Design, Construction and Facility Operations. New Project Stages can be created in this screen.
Your Project Dashboard now has several options to navigate Stages. You can see what stage of work you’re currently working in, navigate from stage to stage, link and/or copy stages as needed to meet your needs.
The Project Stage drop down field allows navigation to any stage of the project you are a collaborator on.
Manage linked stages by selecting the “Linked Stages” button. Projects marked as “Sensitive or Restricted” can only be linked to other stages by the Project Owner.
You can view & manage current stages you have linked.
Link your stage to any other Project Stage you are a collaborator on. Sensitive or Restricted projects will not appear in this list unless you’re the Project Owner.
When copying your current stage, you’re guided through the process to ensure the right data and people are brought into your new stage of work.
For example - you may be copying your current design stage that has specification level data, knowing a different data source like a submittal will be used for your opening & building information in your new construction stage, so you may only want the project summary details and some but not all of your collaborators to come over.
Choosing Files to bring with you is simple. Anything in the external view screen of Share Files will be listed here. Any file you choose that has been processed to clean up the document (i.e. anchor clean up) will also be transferred over to your new stage. *Revit project data and drawings can be transferred to a new stage, but Revit id’s will remain with their original stage.
Choosing who to bring with you is easy. For example – you could have multiple stages for Construction because you have different phases of work you want to keep separate (i.e. Storefront, Hollow Metal Doors, Frames & Hardware or Integrators to name a few).
Once you’ve made your copy selections, the next screen will let you know what data you can expect to come over to your new stage.
A progress bar, messaging and new project stage email notification let’s you know your copy was successful.
