Fundamental Concepts
To handle duplicate openings where you need to merge new data into your original opening that has history (notes, pictures, etc.)
Best Practices
• Track Changes: Regularly monitor updates to ensure all changes are logged.
• Version Control: Utilize versioning to maintain a complete history of each opening.
• Data Consistency: Ensure that all relevant information is retained during updates.
*You will want to make sure merging opening data is a step you take right after uploading new data, so as not to add additional details to the opening you want to merge. Otherwise those new details will not transfer.
Practical Tips
1. Accessing the Feature:
o Enter your project and navigate to the side navigation bar.
o Click on "View Plans." Once the page loads, the Openings window will display.
2. Maintaining Opening History:
o Click on the opening for which you want to maintain history.
o Click "Show Schedule" to view the schedule list.
o Select an opening that is not itself and click "Preview Merge."
3. Merging Openings:
o In the Individual Merge Openings window, select the attributes to update.
o Click "Merge Selected" to merge attributes with the current opening.
o The selected opening will be deleted, and a message will confirm the successful merge.
