Drawing Files to Include
The drawing types below represent what Overtur needs to support accurate hardware coordination. For best results, include all applicable drawing types whenever they are available.
| Drawing Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Core drawings to include: | |
| Floor Plans | Floor plans spanning multiple sheets (1/8" scale preferred, with doors labeled appropriately). Enlarged plans for complex areas such as lobbies, vestibules, or entry sequences are also recommended. |
| Door Schedule Drawings | Door schedule drawings including door-type elevations, style, and rail dimensions. |
| As applicable/available: | |
| Life Safety Plans | Life safety plans including egress paths, fire and smoke barrier locations, and other relevant building code and occupancy information. |
| Door Details | Door details including head, jamb, and sill conditions. |
| Overall Floor Plans | Any scale. |
| Wall Types / Partition Plans | Wall type designations, thickness, and fire ratings. Used to verify hosted wall and frame compatibility during QA/QC review, as Revit schedules cannot cross-reference wall and door data together natively. |
| Additional sheets to consider: | |
| Cover Sheet | Drawing index, building address, and other relevant project information. |
| Site Plans | Plans including exterior gates, unique egress paths, or security considerations. |
| Atypical Level Plans | Plans showing access to tunnels, interstitial space, catwalks, connectors, and similar conditions. |
| Electrical Drawings | Drawings for electrical coordination, including areas with specific access requirements or clearances (e.g., rooms with 800 amps or more of equipment). |
| Security Drawings | Drawings for access control, including low voltage and card reader location drawings. |
| Stair Plans | Plans relevant to exit device placement and vertical circulation hardware. |
File Information
If you are not using the sheet generation feature within the Overtur for Revit Plugin, ideally you would provide the drawing types above as a single combined PDF with consistent page size and orientation. This allows the hardware consultant and other project collaborators to navigate the plans as a set.
When preparing your PDF, a vector-based file is strongly preferred over a raster (image-based) scan. Vector PDFs preserve door tag readability and produce more accurate results during processing. Learn more about vector vs. raster PDFs.
Additional file guidelines:
- Single combined PDF preferred
- Consistent page size and orientation throughout
- Maximum file size: 250 MB
