Allegion Services Group (ASG) is primarily known for its expertise in door hardware. However, ASG also has a robust team of consultants who can provide assistance beyond and fully manage various aspects related to door openings. This page will explain what is included in our scope by default, as well as the additional services available upon request.
Standard Scope of Services:
- Reviewing project drawings and determining the appropriate hardware sets for each door based on factors such as project drawings, door schedules, building codes, and application requirements.
- Coordinating electrified and mechanical hardware with the Security Consultant and Architect, taking into account the latest security drawings. This includes providing a detailed operational description of the hardware sets.
- Developing a door hardware specification (Section 087100) for major project milestones and addenda, aligning with the project schedules.
- Assisting with Construction Administration (CA) activities, which may involve responding to Requests for Information (RFIs), addressing bulletins, and reviewing door hardware submittals.

Additional On-Site Services:
- Site survey of existing conditions for the doors and frames that are intended to remain, providing options and recommendations for retrofitting.
- Pre-installation assistance for the hardware installer.
- Keying meeting.
- Post-installation walkthrough:
- Advise on common construction issues that need correction related to doors and hardware.
- This can be done after a portion of the project is complete to identify problems before they are repeated throughout the rest of the construction.
- Requires 1–2 people for one day or less.
- Comprehensive punch list or commissioning report:
- Review each opening, either inclusive or selective, across installed frames, doors, and hardware.
- Verify proper functionality and code compliance based on the installation or as-built drawings.
- Detail items requiring corrective action.
- Requires 4–8 people for full consecutive days.
